Pooey is looking for a new fur-ever home this summer season.

From the Desk of Development Director Chrys deLorimier at Pope Memorial Humane Society,

Becoming a member of Pope Memorial Humane Society is a great way to help homeless animals and be part of a group of like-minded people who care about them.

A $35 membership can feed two dogs quality food for a month. A $50 membership can provide all care, medicine and food for a dog or cat for one month. A $100 membership provides a spay for a special cat waiting for a home.

Membership has benefits! A car decal, membership card and exclusive first tickets to events are included, as is a quarterly “Inside Scoop” e-newsletter. At $100 there is a colorful lapel pin to show your support for homeless animals in our community. Joining is easy-visit www.PopeHumane.org, click the “Donate” button and select “Membership.”

You can also send a check ($35 minimum) to PMHS, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland ME  04841. Be sure to put “Membership” on the memo line. Thank you!

Meet Pooey. Contrary to her name, this girl is fastidious in her self-cleaning, and is ready to bring life to your home. She is polydactyl (she has thumbs!), prefers the company of humans to cats and would prefer to be your only kitty love. She is also sassy and six years old.

Pooey’s previous owner ran into housing issues and couldn’t keep her. She has been at the shelter 88 days and is yearning for a home of her own. Would you like to come meet her? Fill out an application at PopeHumane.org and give us a call to make an appointment.

PMHS is open by appointment. If out shopping, canned pet food is always welcome, and cleaning supplies always needed, including 13 and 33 gallon trash bags, scrubby sponges and bleach.

Thank you!
