WARREN — Richard L. Dostie, 69, died June 18, 2021.

Rick was born Jan. 14, 1952, the son of Leo C. and Joan Labbe Dostie.

He graduated from Rockland District High School in 1970. He attended Northern Maine Vocation Technical Institute in Presque Isle, where he met the love of his life, Judy Desjardin. Rick and Judy were married Feb. 18, 1972 in Fort Kent.

Rick and his father built an A frame home in Warren, and they lived there ever since. He was a self-employed mason for many years before retiring. Most of his work was on Vinalhaven. His wife, Judy, son Mike and later, his brother Larry tended for him.

Rick had many hobbies including playing guitar, listening to music (particularly Richard Thompson and Bob Dylan), gardening, carving duck decoys, lobster boat models and building furniture.

Rick is survived by his wife Judy; son Michael Dostie and his wife Emily of Warren and their two children Madelyn and Charlotte; father Leo; brother Larry Dostie and his wife Angela of Hope; three sisters Elaine Hallett and her husband Guy of Rockland, Barbie Sylvester and her husband Steve of Rockport and Janie Watts of Rockland; brother-in-law Steve Desjardin and his partner Mark; sister-in-laws Bonnie Blanger, Diane Rossignol and Elaine Burns; and many nieces and nephews.

Rick is predeceased by his mother, Joan, and sister Linda Burgess.
