ROCKLAND — Joel Berg, a media spokesman and director of Hunger Free America, will conduct local events and site visits (in-person or virtual) from coast-to-coast in America to highlight food pantries and other hunger-related organizations.

AIO Food and Energy Assistance in Rockland was chosen as a location on this tour. The tour will highlight that hunger is a problem in rural, suburban and urban America alike.

Through this journey, HFA seeks to amplify local voices, issues while bringing national context to hunger problems, and what citizens can do to solve this problem.

Berg wrote a book entitled “America We Need to Talk: A Self-Help Book for the Nation,” which parodies the genre of self-help books with an analysis of the nation’s political and economic dysfunction. Berg’s newest publication explains that the most serious — and most broken — relationship is the one between Americans and the nation.
