UNION — Eleven residents of Union attended the 2021 Annual Town Meeting June 12, and passed all warrant articles.

Elmer Savage acted as moderator for the meeting.

Town Manager Jay Feyler presented the Spirit of America awards for 2020 and 2021.

The Spirit of America award is given to a local person or group selected by the municipality for their community service efforts.

John Gibbons received the Spirit of America award for 2020.

Sherwood Hilt was the 2021 recipient.

Feyler also honored John Shepard, who served two three-year terms on the board of selectmen and was board chair from 2020 to 2021. Shepard did not seek reelection.

Shepard then honored Feyler with a gift for his hard work and dedication to the town of Union.

The residents then voted on articles 20 through 35 by show of hands. These articles all passed by majority vote.

These were warrant articles that could not be determined by the secret ballot vote held June 8.

Joel Wentworth Sr. was voted at a Trustee of the Cemetery Trust Fund for a three-year term.

Erik Amundsen, Jon Gibbons and Michael Drickey were voted members of the Budget Committee for a three-year term.

Anita Brown was voted a Trustee of the William Pullen Fund.
