Lorie Costigan was elected chair of the Appleton Select Board Tuesday, June 15, according to Town Clerk Elizabeth Dickerson.

Peter Beckett was named vice chair and Marci Moody Blakely was named secretary.

Costigan, along with her husband Patrick and children, moved to Appleton in 2007 and renovated the property to serve as an active lavender farm, according to previously published articles. She is also a former editor of The Camden Herald.

The town’s election was held June 8. Scott Esancy received the most votes in a three-way race for two seats on the Select Board.

Esancy received 185 votes. Blakely received 176, also winning a seat. Incumbent John Fenner, who had been serving as the chair of the board, trailed with 100 votes.
