Enjoy the inaugural episode of Meet in the Music, a Bay Chamber Concerts Original Podcast, Thursday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. Hosted by Artistic Director Manuel Bagorro, Meet in the Music explores the role music plays in our lives. Drawing from Bay Chamber’s concert recording archives, the series combines a selection of performances with interviews from community members as it delves into topics of food, wine, nature, work and joy.
"Music has the power to shape our experiences, to inspire us, to help us process challenges and celebrate joy," Bagorro said. "I [will] talk to friends old and new, from Maine and beyond, about what matters to them, and about the ways music connects us all."
Music selections range from Baroque favorites including Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 6, through luminous masterworks by Mozart and Beethoven, and cherished romantic pieces by Schumann and Tchaikovsky, to more contemporary works featured in BCC's concert series. Guests include Thomas Wolf; mixologist Chip Dewing; Nina June chef Sara Jenkins and Nancy Harmon Jenkins; Mackenzie Gassett; Marilyn Rockefeller; Dr. Cheryl Liechty; Jason Haynes, owner of Rayr Wine; musician and owner of Me Lon Togo restaurant Jordan Benissan; as well as faculty members of Bay Chamber Music School and other guest musicians.
Meet in the Music can be viewed at baychamberconcerts.org, as well as on Soundcloud.
