The Rockport Parks and Beautification Committee has announced the availability of two additional Honorary/Memorial park benches.
The benches are the Jackson Park Settee, manufactured locally by Weatherend Estate Furniture. A bronze plaque with a message from the donor will be cast by local artist Richard Remsen, of West Rockport, and then affixed to the bench for a period of 10 years. The plaque will consist of three lines, each with a maximum of 28 characters, with the middle line identifying who or what is being honored, and the last line identifying the sponsor or donor. At the end of the 10 years, the plaque may be renewed or it can be removed and returned to the donor.
The benches will be placed in the town parks as part of an ongoing effort by the Parks and Beautification Committee to create a welcoming and comfortable park environment. The cost for the plaque and it’s placement on a bench is $5,000.00, which will cover a period of 10 consecutive years. The donation is tax deductible.
