A graduation ceremony for 12 students in the MCST Certified Nursing Assistant training program was held Oct. 29.

The graduation included certified nursing assistant students from February and September classes, and was held in the new school’s café, with everyone observing social distancing.

Course instructor Terry Adkins and Director of MCST Adult Education Heidi Nolan personally congratulated students on their successful completion of the 200 hour course.

These two certified nursing assistants groups were noted for patience and flexibility as area healthcare facilities restricted clinical access due to the coronavirus. COVID-19 restrictions also meant family and friends were not on hand to witness the graduates receive certificates and pins in recognition of their accomplishment.

Many of these certified nursing assistant graduates had employment positions waiting for them at local facilities within the Pen Bay Healthcare system.

A new class of CNA students is underway presently, to be followed by two more classes, scheduled to start Feb. 2 and April 20, 2021.
