Thomaston Grocery Store sponsored a contest this summer using the new mural on the store as a theme. Entry forms included a picture of a window frame and asked children to draw what they guessed the artist would paint in the window. Approximately 100 entries were received. Three students guessed correctly, with a cat in their drawing looking out the window.
The grand prize winners were Autumn Hill, Ava Chamberlin and Grace Stevens, who were awarded gift certificates from Thomaston Grocery Store, Athens Pizza or Flipside Coffee Shop. Sophia Davis and Charlotte Stevens received prizes for most creative. Artist Nancy Baker hopes to continue this mural project on other buildings in town.
