Janet Lynn Morton, 64, of Union, died peacefully at home Sept. 28, 2020, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born to parents Philip Morton and Phyllis Morton Jan. 18, 1956, in Meriden, Conn. Janet grew up shooting archery competitively with her family in Connecticut and throughout New England. She graduated from Medomak Valley High School in 1974 and made a career as a real estate paralegal in the midcoast. She was well regarded in her field and will be remembered fondly for her impeccable work.

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, being on the water, playing softball, tennis and golfing. She was known throughout the community for her infectious laugh and her ever constant sense of adventure.

Janet is survived by the loving community of Union, partner Dean Christianson of New Hampshire, and three children Maureen Booth of Augusta, Wade Ward of Camden and Ryan Ward of Louisiana, along with their partners and children.

She also leaves behind her siblings Russell Morton of Union, Deborah Morton of Waldoboro, Cindy Henderson of North Carolina and Wendie Barberino of Connecticut, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all healthcare staff that assisted her, and to everyone else that helped during this difficult time.

Due to the pandemic, there will be a small graveside service for immediate family only, and a celebration of life will be scheduled for the rest of the community in spring.

Those wishing to honor her life can make donations to New Hope for Women, P.O. Box A, Rockland ME 04841, an organization that she was very fond of.
