Camden Hills Regional High School is pleased to announce that four Camden Hills seniors have achieved semifinalist status in the National Merit Scholarship program.

The semifinalists are Jonathan McDevitt, son of Jonathan and Emily McDevitt, of Camden; Wyatt Munson, son of David and Jennifer Munson, of Lincolnville; Elias Porter, son of Nathaniel Porter and Stephanie Sala, of Appleton; and Claire Wyman, daughter of Dan and Heather Wyman, of Appleton. All four students plan to pursue a career in the sciences.

There are approximately 16,000 semifinalists nationwide who now have the opportunity to compete for a National Merit Scholarship. These 16,000 high-scoring students represent about 1% of the total number of students who took the qualifying exam in 2019. Over 90% of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing and more than half of those will be awarded a scholarship in the spring of 2021.
