Camden Rotary Club has completed its annual Super Raffle, which raised more than $10,000 to help finance grants for local nonprofit organizations in the coming year.

The winner of the raffle’s top prize of $1,500 lives in Maryland. A Camden resident who won the $1,000 second prize donated it to MCH Meals on Wheels and a Lincolnville resident won $500.

“We usually sell tickets at community events but could not do so this time around due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Chip Holmes, who chairs the club’s raffle committee. “We are so grateful that despite this year’s special challenges, so many people supported our efforts to help the community by purchasing raffle tickets. Special thanks also to Camden National Bank for their covering of our printing costs.”

Camden Rotary Club has served the community since 1925, raising funds to help local nonprofit organizations and providing volunteer services. Recent recipients include the Camden and Rockport fire departments, MCH Meals on Wheels, P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center and AIO Interfaith Outreach. The club will open applications for 2020 grants in January.

The club meets on Zoom at noon every Tuesday, and members of the public are welcome to attend. For access details, contact Stephanie French at steph.griffinsg00@gmail.com. Information about the club is available at www.camdenrotary.org.
