Williams-Brazier to host spaghetti and meatball supper Aug. 29

THOMASTON — The Williams-Brazier Auxiliary Unit 37 at 37 Watts Lane will have another spaghetti and meatball supper Aug. 29. All present Post 37 procedures, as well as all coronavirus state guidelines, will be followed.

Meals will be served at 5 p.m. Meals may be ordered ahead of time and picked up, in the sequence of when ordered. Patron names will be called, and they will be able to pick up their meal. Pre-ordered meals will have a priority when they are ready. Serving may begin prior to 5 p.m. but only if enough are prepared to begin serving.

Each meal will be packed in “to go” boxes and placed into a bag for carry out. Patrons can drive/walk to the front of the Legion Hall, order a meal and pay for it. A Legion member will retrieve the order and bring it back to the patron.

Post 37 meals are winding down for 2020. Baked bean suppers are planned for Sept. 19 and Oct. 17, while an Americanized Oktoberfest will be served Oct. 3, with grilled chicken legs and American potato salad will be the primary meals, along with a pretzel and dessert.

Spaghetti supper menu to include traditional spaghetti and meatballs, cherry tomatoes and cucumber slices and dessert for $8 per meal.

Free parenting class on discipline offered Sept. 16 and Sept. 23

VIRTUAL — Knox and Waldo County Families is offering parents and caregivers of children ages 2 to 12 in Knox and Waldo Counties, two free sessions counting discipline program called "1, 2, 3 Magic."

These sessions will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This fun and upbeat parenting program teaches how to control obnoxious behavior, encourage good behavior and techniques to strengthen the bond between caregiver and child.

Breastfeeding support group Sept. 1 to Sept. 29

VIRTUAL — Every Tuesday, mothers can join virtually for a support group for breastfeeding families. The informal group provides interaction as well as individual assistance when needed. Sessions are held from noon to 2:30 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m.
