The Camden Conference and Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) host a special Q & A webinar with journalist Maria Ressa and "A Thousand Cuts" filmmaker Ramona Diaz on Friday, Aug. 21, at 8 p.m. The exclusive event is open to attendees of the film — either through virtual screening or at the Shotwell Drive-In — and to Camden Conference members. Please email info@camdenconference.org to request a link to attend the webinar.

In "A Thousand Cuts," Diaz follows key players from two sides of an increasingly dangerous war between press and government. Representing the journalists is fearless Rappler CEO Maria Ressa, who, despite arrests and harassment from the regime of President Rodrigo Duterte, continues to publish articles holding a lawless regime accountable.

"A Thousand Cuts" will be screened at the Shotwell Drive-In Theater in Rockport on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 7:45 p.m. For those who cannot attend the screening in Rockport, $12 virtual tickets for "A Thousand Cuts" are available starting on Aug. 19 through CIFF. You will be able to watch the film via your web browser or thru the Eventive app on your home Roku or AppleTV. For tickets and details, please visit the CIFF website here.
