The Salvation Army, of Rockland, in partnership with Knox County Emergency Management Association and the Maine Farmer's Exchange, announce the second Free Food Distribution event, Tuesday, Aug. 18 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m., at the Oceanside High School parking lot, 400 Broadway St. in Rockland.

Each box will contain five pounds of whole potatoes; a six-pound bag of refrigerated mashed potatoes; a two-and-a-half-pound block of cheddar cheese; and a half-gallon of 2% milk.

The food is free to all and everyone is welcome. There are no prerequisites, no sign-ups required and no paperwork to fill out. Distribution is not income-based. First come will be first served while supplies last.

Drive-through distribution

Stay in your vehicle, follow the signs through the pick-up line and a volunteer (with mask and glove on) will put the box in the trunk or backseat.

The Free Food Distribution is a reminder to support Maine farmers.
