The environmental advocacy group Maine Conservation Voters has endorsed the candidacy of Rep. Jeffrey Evangelos, I-Friendship, for House District 91, encompassing the towns of Friendship, Waldoboro, Washington, and west Union.  In a letter received by the candidate written by the agency's Director of Government Affairs, Beth Ahearn, Maine Conservation lauded Rep. Evangelos' 100% voting record in support of Maine's environment:
"We are pleased to inform you that the Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund has endorsed your candidacy for the 130th Legislature.
Maine's extraordinary environment is the foundation of our good health, good jobs, and quality of life. We appreciate your steadfast vision and vigilance this past legislative session to conserve our natural legacy for future generations.
"For over 30 years, Maine Conservation Voters has been making Maine's environment a priority for voters, candidates and elected officials. We promote forward-thinking conservation policies at the State House, publish the annual Environmental Scorecard, and endorse strong environmental candidates, like you! Our board includes members of both major political parties".

Commenting on the endorsement, Evangelos said, "I'm grateful for this endorsement. I always vote to protect our environment, it's important to the people I represent. Not only do these votes represent good policy, the votes support the interests of the marine resource industries of lobstering and clamming, as well as supporting the interests of our many sportsmen and women who depend on clean rivers, streams, and forests to pursue their outdoor activities."
