The Portland, Maine based indie synth-pop band Forget, Forget will join Rockland Public Library's Adult Program Coordinator Shane Billings for a conversation about their music career and creative process. Throughout the interview, which will take place via Zoom on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 6:30 p.m., Forget, Forget will share excerpts from a pre-recorded concert filmed exclusively for Rockland Public Library. The complete concert will be featured on the Library's Facebook page and YouTube channel the following day.
The duo's principal songwriters, Tyler DeVos (guitar, vocals) and Patia Maule (synths, vocals, programming), weave a sonic cocoon that is as focused on introspection as it is on catharsis. Their music conjures a night of dancing with your friends, while you contemplate everything from loneliness to finding connection in unexpected places. Their sound is defined by analog warmth, intertwining instrumental parts, vocal harmonies, swirling textures, and reflective lyrics. Their yet-to-be-released third full-length album comprises the majority of their current set.
To request the link to attend via Zoom, please email sbillings@rocklandmaine.gov by 4 p.m. on the day of the event.
