On Friday, Aug. 14, the Farnsworth Art Museum will host an online theatrical-improvisation class, led by local actor Ryan Jackson. Entitled “Thinking Outside The Frame: An Improv Introduction," the class will take place on Zoom from 1 to 2:30 p.m. This program was originally scheduled for June but was postponed.
Looking for a way to really bust out of your shell and have fun doing it? This is the class for you! Jackson will be instructing participants on the art of improvisation through various games, exercises, and theatre-based scene work. Be prepared to get on your feet, open your imaginations and laugh!
Born and raised in Rockland, Jackson is a graduate of the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre. For the past 20 years, Ryan has been working both locally and professionally in Midcoast Maine, as well as other parts of New England. Jackson is an Employee Owner at Rock City Café, as well as Site Coordinator for After School Programming at Oceanside Middle School.
The fee for this program is $30; $25 for Farnsworth members. To register for this program, or for more information, please visit farnsworthmuseum.org.
