WRFR will be off the air for the next few days as the non-profit community radio station awaits the arrival of a new transmitter.

Joseph Steinberger said this is the first time the radio station has been off the air for nearly 18 years. The transmitter is the original one acquired when the low-power station started.

The transmitter has been ordered and is expected to be shipped Aug. 3, arriving within a few days from then.

The station is 99.3 in Rockland and 99.3 in Camden.
