The Strand Theatre, in partnership with the Owls Head Transportation Museum, continues its Drive-In Movie screenings at the OHTM campus with "Jurassic Park" (1993, USA) on July 23, 24 and 25; and "Field of Dreams" (1989, USA) on July 30, 31, and Aug. 1. Showtime will be at 8:30 p.m. each night, with gates opening at 7:30 p.m.

In Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park," paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. While the park's mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt. The film is rated PG-13; its running time is 2 hours, 7 minutes.

In "Field of Dreams," Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) hears a voice in his corn field tell him, "If you build it, he will come." He interprets this message as an instruction to build a baseball field on his farm, upon which appear the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and the other seven Chicago White Sox players banned from the game for throwing the 1919 World Series. When the voices continue, Ray seeks out a reclusive author to help him understand the meaning of the messages and the purpose for his field. Directed by Phil Alden Robinson. Also starring Ray Liotta, Amy Madgian and James Earl Jones. The film is rated PG; its running time is 1 hour, 47 minutes.

Tickets are $20 per car, and will be available starting at 2 p.m. each day for that evening’s show. Tickets can be purchased on the Strand Theatre website at, or by calling 594-0070 between 2 and 4 p.m. Availability is limited, so movie-goers are encouraged to buy their tickets early to guarantee their spot.
