Kevin the pug from Rockland will be a famous TV star come April.

When Kevin was 3 1/2 months old, he was at the Rockland Loyal Biscuit store with his owner, Heidi Neal (Neal also owns Loyal Biscuit).

Kevin grabbed a dog treat that was larger than he was and tried to climb the stairs to Neal’s office. He kept getting stuck, so he backed down the stairs, paused, adjusted and “figured it out,” said Neal.

PJ Walter, the inventory manager for Loyal Biscuit, recorded the whole thing and submitted the video to America’s Funniest Home Videos.

In February Walter and Neal heard the video of Kevin was selected as a finalist.

Walter, Neal and their spouses, along with Kevin, flew to Los Angeles to be on the show.

Neal said the whole experience was “very cool.”

She particularly enjoyed bonding with Kevin, who was “a rockstar,” and seeing what happened behind the scenes of the taping.

Neal cannot talk about the outcome of the show until it airs.

The episode with Kevin will air April 26 on ABC at 7 p.m.
