High winds caused a traffic light at the Old County Road and Route 1 intersection in Rockport to malfunction for about an hour March 4.

While the lights regulating traffic on Route 1 flashed yellow, the lights regulating traffic coming from Old County Road put on a colorful show.

Rockport Public Works Director Mike Young said the wind may have shorted out a connection. The problem was reported to Public Works and staff went out to the intersection to place temporary stop signs on Route 1.

AD Electric arrived to repair the light while staff was on the scene, he said.
