A report of smoke in the lobby of the Trade Winds Inn sent fire crews scrambling, but the call turned out to not be a significant issue.

The call came in shortly before 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at the motel on Park Drive.

Crews went in the lobby for a few minutes before coming back outside.

Rockland Fire Chief Christopher Whytock said paper plates were left on a pancake warmer.
