Molly Luce of Hope has registered to seek the Maine House seat that covers Warren, Hope, Appleton, and part of Union.

Luce, a Republican, registered Friday, Feb. 28 with the Maine Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices to seek the Maine House District 95 seat.

The seat is currently held by first-term independent state Rep. William Pluecker of Warren. Pluecker is seeking re-election.

Luce is a life-long resident of Hope and she and her family have operated Luce Transportation since it was founded in 1987.

Party candidates have until March 16 to file nomination papers with the Maine Secretary of State to formally be on the June 9 primary ballot. Un-enrolled candidates – also referred to as independents – have until June 1 to file nomination papers to get on the November general election ballot.

The winners of the party primaries and un-enrolled candidates will face off on the general election Nov. 3.
