Gary Robinson of Warren passed away Nov. 6 at the Sussman House in Rockport just a week shy of his 80th birthday.

Gary is survived by his wife, Dorothy Robinson; son and daughter-in-law Arnold and Cathy Robinson; son Andre Lascoutx and daughter Michelle Herrick; grandchildren Devon Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Heather McArdle, Ryan Herrick and Jessica Herrick, plus several great-grandchildren. Gary is also survived by his sister, Valerie Boggs, and brother Sterling Robinson, as well as his band of brothers in the "Men's Group."

Gary graduated from local schools and was later trained in computer programming. He worked for more than 40 years as a Marine Specialist for the State of Maine Lobster Project at the Department of Marine Resources in Boothbay Harbor. He enjoyed traveling up and down the Maine coast interviewing lobster fishermen and gathering data for his computer analysis. When he finally purchased a boat of his own, he enjoyed several wonderful years exploring Penobscot Bay with family and friends.

Always an outdoorsman, Gary loved the land–especially chopping down trees! He worked in earnest in the woods and harvested several cords of wood each year. Gary also was very 'conservation conscious' and was quite satisfied when he protected his land by working with the George's River Land Trust.

A private celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
