The Board of Selectmen confirmed April 8 the replacement of Thomaston's Emergency Management Services chief.

Amy Dyer Drinkwater, who is also on the St. George and South Thomaston EMS, was appointed to the position, taking over from Rusty Barnard, who resigned last year.

The EMS chief position is part-time and pays a stipend of $10,000.

Thomaston advertised the opening in January. Two applicants from within the Ambulance service applied for the position; one being a finalist.

Drinkwater's appointment was supported by Town Manager Valmore Blastow Jr., and she completed the process through the Personnel Committee.

She began her responsibilities April 9.
