Current art exhibitor Sandi Cirillo of Searsport will lead a hands-on workshop in felt making Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 9 Water St. All materials are provided with a $25 donation.

Participants will learn how to create a beautiful piece of artwork (suitable for framing) using an ancient craft process known as feltmaking — using nothing more than wool, soap, water and a little agitation. Wet and needle felting techniques will be explored.

The class has limited space, so a reservation is required by calling 594-0600, ext. 5. Cirillo also will offers a child-friendly felting class Wednesday, April 17.
