The Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition and the family of Ryan Gamage will host a pancake breakfast at Rockland Congregational Church, 180 Limerock St., Saturday, March 2, from 8 to 10 a.m. The suggested donation of $10 (children under 12 free) will help fund a stairway addition to The Friends House, which will enable the MCRC’s recovery residence for men in Rockland to serve more men in recovery.

Currently, the house can serve only four men, MCRC officials said. But the stairway would allow the organization to house as many as eight more men in recovery from substance abuse disorder. Gamage had donated his time and talent to the men’s recovery house, and his family wants to continue that tradition in his honor.

Chef Kerry Altiero of Café Miranda will head the kitchen, and will produce a classic pancake breakfast with all the trimmings.

Gordon Smith, director of Maine’s Opioid Response, will be present and the governor has been invited to attend as well.
