The Knox Service Unit of Girls Scouts of Maine celebrated World Thinking Day at the Salvation Army Feb. 16. Girls from Knox County and Waldoboro took part in the event.

Each troop was given a particular country to research and created a display on their country for Thinking Day. Troops offer food from their country for others to taste, or share games or other examples of the local culture. Girls visit each other's tables to learn about all the countries represented and about Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding around the world. Countries represented at the Feb. 16 event included Colombia, Germany, India, Japan, Scotland, Sweden, Thailand, Vietnam and United Kingdom.

Troops also raise money to donate to the Juliette World Friendship Fund to support Scouting around the world.
