A cow was killed when a vehicle struck the animal Monday night, Feb . 18.

According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, about 8:15 p.m. a man was driving south on Sennebec Road, going down a hill. When he got to the bottom of the hill, he saw several cows in the road, but was unable to avoid hitting them.

The driver was uninjured but one cow was killed. The vehicle had severe damage to the front end and had to be towed.

The crash investigation was completed by Deputy Paul Spear. He was assisted by Appleton Fire Department and the Appleton animal control officer.
