Unity-based North Star Adventures is partnering with Brooks artist Lesia Sochor to offer a Winter Watercolor Adventure on Saturday, March 16. Participants will snowshoe (or hike) the trails along the Ducktrap River at Tanglewood.

The watershed’s sparkling water, ice crystals, suspension bridge and forest ecosystem will serve as backdrop for inspiration as artist and teacher Sochor guides students in painting with watercolors. If it is too cold to paint plein air, photographs will be taken of the environment and paintings made from them.

Sochor is a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher of art who has given instruction in public schools, residencies through the Maine Arts Commission and museum workshops for 25 years. All art materials, instruction and lunch (sourced locally) are included in the $125 fee. Snowshoes are limited, so reserve early if needed; contact Nancy Zane at northstaradventures1@gmail.com or register online at northstaradventures.me.
