Creatures of Habit will perform a benefit dance for Gary Clancy Saturday night, Feb. 16, at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St. Clancy has been diagnosed with cancer, and due to medical complications, has been out of work for close to two years.

Clancy has been a positive influence in the Midcoast music scene for decades. Most recently performing as a member of Creatures of Habit, he also has taught at the University of Maine Augusta, Midcoast Music Academy and K2 Music. His love for music has been evident from the classroom to the stage; and many people, locally and throughout New England, have been impacted by his passionate artistry on guitar.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the dance runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Suggested donation at the door is $15, $25 per couple; there are no advance tickets. Cash bar will be provided by Waterworks and pizza by Flatbread Company.

Those who cannot attend, but wish to make a donation are encouraged to send a check payable to Gary Clancy, care of Rick Johnson, 265 Camden Road, Appleton, ME 04862; or drop it off at Midcoast Music Academy, 279 Main St., Rockland.
