The Rockport Select Board, as directed by the town charter, will appoint a search committee to help identify qualified applicants to be the next town manager of Rockport. This committee will consist of between five and seven town residents. The duties and responsibilities of the committee are detailed in the town charter.

Several applications for the search committee have already been received, and the Select Board has set a deadline of Tuesday, Feb. 5, for all applications. Each applicant must complete a town committee application, which can be obtained at the Town Office or on the town website. The Select Board will hold a meeting Thursday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Richardson Room at the Town Office to review the applications, and applicants will be given the opportunity to make a brief statement at that meeting. Those who are unable to attend may provide a statement in writing. The board will then enter into executive session to discuss the candidates, and will make the appointments to the committee at the conclusion of the executive session.
