The Knox County Democratic Committee will host a town hall meeting Feb. 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Watts Hall, 174 Main St., Thomaston. The meeting will provide information on a bill before the state Legislature that would require employers with more than five employees to offer earned paid sick leave.

Under the bill, proposed by Democratic Sen. Rebecca Millett of South Portland, employers with five or fewer employees would also be required to offer earned unpaid sick leave. The measure would take effect Jan. 1, 2021. All are welcome to the forum.

The bill, LD 369, will come up for a hearing before the Labor and Housing Committee in Room 302 of the Cross Building at the State Capitol Feb. 13 at 11 a.m.
