Ashwood Waldorf School, 180 Park St., Rockport, will offer school tours Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 8:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., for those interested in learning more about how reading, writing and arithmetic are taught in a Waldorf first-grade class. The tour will give visitors an opportunity to see a current first-grade class in session. This behind-the-scenes look at Waldorf education is for all those who are curious about what goes on in a Waldorf classroom.

Every morning at Ashwood Waldorf School the day begins with an interactive main lesson, using storytelling, movement, experimentation and the arts. The tour allows visitors see the main lesson in action and sit in on three classrooms in session, from early elementary grades through the middle school. After the tour, there will be a participatory, hands-on demonstration of Waldorf methods, followed by a question-and-answer session.

The tour is free of charge, but spaces are limited and advance registration is required. For more information, contact or 236.8021.
