Catinka Knoth will lead an art workshop series for adults, on creating motifs for February celebrations of February, most Mondays at 11 a.m. in the Community Room of Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St.

Each week will be a different subject. Feb. 4, Chinese New Year (Year of the Pig); Feb. 11, Valentine’s Day papercuts and cards; Feb. 18, no class (library closed for Presidents' Day); and Feb. 25, Black History Month.

Knoth will provide instruction and guidance as participants create their own art, working with pencil, colored pencil, crayon and papercut, with a focus on drawing in color.

Knoth provides the classes free of charge, with materials supplied. Friends of Rockland Library host the workshops, which are open to the public. For more information, call Knoth at 593-6085 or the library at 594-0310. She also teaches a free weekly children's drawing class at Rockland Public Library, sponsored by Wendy and Keith Wellin.
