Environmental educator, Hannah Kiermayr, will lead a presentation about her experiences traversing the Appalachian Trail at Merryspring Nature Center Tuesday, Feb. 5 at noon. Kiermayr will share photos, experiences, observations, and perspectives about her journey across the entire Appalachian Trail in 2017. She will reflect about the landscape of the Trail itself, as well as tell stories about the hikers, “trail angels,” hostel owners, and stewards she met along the way.

Hannah “Pearl” Kiermayr is an environmental educator who has spent time as a trip leader and open-air classroom instructor at Tanglewood 4H Camp & Learning Center in Lincolnville. She has completed several long-distance thru-hikes, and is planning on completing the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019. She currently lives and works in Kingfield.

The lecture is part of the Winter Talk series at Merryspring, sponsored by Allen Insurance & Financial. Admission is $5, with free admission for members of Merryspring.

The park is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden, behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza. For more information, contact info@merryspring.org or call 236-2239.
