Maine roots rock masters the Mallett Brothers Band will hit the Midcoast the eve of Toboggan Nationals weekend, playing a Winterfest Week concert Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Camden Opera House. Openers will be the Belfast-based Oshima Brothers.

The Mallett Brothers Band is an independent Maine band hailing originally from Sebec, where Luke and Will Mallett grew up. With a style that ranges from alt-country to Americana, country, jam and roots rock, MBB is a musical melting pot influenced equally by the singer/songwriter tradition as by harder rock, classic country and psychedelic sounds.

The band has grown a dedicated fan base across the country since releasing its debut record a decade ago, while still calling Maine home. The band has a rigorous touring schedule (playing upwards of 150 shows a year across the country) and a mission of sending genuine, heartfelt and independent music out into the world. MBB has performed at some of the country’s top venues and festivals; and has been called “New England’s wildly eclectic crew of genre rebels.

Sean and Jamie Oshima, who perform as The Oshima Brothers, were raised in a musical family in rural Maine. On stage, the duo creates a surprisingly full sound with dynamic vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, octave bass, loops and percussion. They perform a harmony-drenched blend of contemporary folk, acoustic pop and Americana.

Tickets are $22, available in advance at camdenoperahouse.com; and at the door an hour prior to the start of performance.
