Registration closes Jan. 31 for an online two-session Poetry Master Class instructed by Arielle Greenberg, the newly caped Poet Laureate of Belfast. The Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance workshop, geared toward serious poets eager for a challenge, will meet Saturdays, Feb. 9 and March 2.

This workshop will occur online using the video meeting platform Zoom, which means students may participate from the comfort of their own homes (or anywhere with a reliable, fast internet connection). The class is limited to 12 attendees.

Greenberg has taught in a number of low-residency MFA programs and is a former associate professor in the poetry program at Columbia College Chicago. Twice featured in the “Best American Poetry” series, she is a MacDowell Colony fellow and the author of three works of creative nonfiction/lyric essay — “Locally Made Panties”; “Shake Her”; and, with Rachel Zucker, “Home/Birth: a Poemic” — and four books of poetry.

Fee is $170, $115 for MWPA members. MWPA is offering one full scholarship for members, awarded on a combination of need and merit. Scholarship applications are due in the MWPA office Monday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m.
