Join food writer Nancy Harmon Jenkins, author of "The New Mediterranean Diet," a nationally recognized authority on this way of eating (and also on one of its prime components, extra-virgin olive oil), as she explains what the diet is and what it’s not at the Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St., Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.. She will especially touch upon why it’s not a restrictive “eat-this-not-that” kind of diet, but rather an entirely new, easy and delicious way to bring good health into your kitchen and onto your table. And to have fun doing so.

After the talk, Harmon Jenkins will have copies of "The New Mediterranean Diet," and also of her more recent "Virgin Territory" available for sale and signing.

This is the first in the library's new Thursday afternoon event series. The library, known for its Thursday evening programs, is trying afternoon events on the fourth Thursday of the month as an opportunity to provide programming for those community members not likely to attend evening events.
