Georges River Land Trust will host a guided snowshoe hike at Wheeler Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in St. George Sunday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m. Bring your snowshoes and join Jocelyn Paquette for a 1-mile guided adventure. Come out for the full moon, listen for owls, see tracks of other local wildlife in the snow, and possibly even catch the unmistakable sound of the quarry ice singing. This event is free and all are welcome to attend. Registration by phone is required.

After the walk, Paquette will warm participants up with a hot beverage and sweet treat at her home on the edge of the quarry. She will also share amazing tales of how the quary is being restored to a bountiful wildlife sanctuary, and all the wildlife that now call the place home.

This event is limited to 25 guests and is suitable for children; register at 594-5166 by Jan. 18. Registered guests will receive an email with directions to the site. Dress warmly, bring your own snowshoes and headlight or flashlight.
