Supper, auction to benefit man with Tourette's Jan. 12

WARREN — Friends will hold a public supper and auction to benefit Caleb Schesser at the Warren Odd Fellows Hall, routes 90 and 1. Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and younger. The evening will include a potluck dinner, live and silent auctions and a 50/50 raffle.

Schesser needs surgery to help with his Tourette's symdrome; proceeds of the evening will help with his medical expenses. For more informatoin, call 691-3144.

Vose Library presents nature series for kids

UNION — Children of all ages are invited to Vose Library, 392 Common Road, this winter to participate in DIrigo Learning and 4-H's Human Nature Series to explore the local natural landscape. In January, youngsters will learn about animal tracks and scat, and a hands-on museum will be on display in the Children's Room. Classes will be offered Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. and Saturday, Jan. 26, at 10:30 am.. Dress warmly, classes will be held outside as weather permits. Library to hold food drive Jan. 18

THOMASTON — The Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St., will hold a nonperishable food drive during its monthly Communi-TEA event Jan. 18 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Refreshments provided. Personal care items and pet food donations are welcome, as well. For more information, call 354-2453.

Bring a puzzle, take a puzzle at library puzzle swap Jan. 26

TENANTS HARBOR — The Jackson Memorial Library, 71 Main St., will host a puzzle swap Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants are invited to bring in a new or used puzzle before the event, and receive a "puzzle buck" to be used at the event in exchange. Those without a puzzle to donate may buy any puzzle for $2. Coffee will be provided, and the library will hold a bake sale during the swap to support its after-school programs.
