Midcoast Women kicks off 2019’s Collective Voices series of storytelling events with “BOSS Lady” Thursday, Jan. 10, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St.

The program will address the characteristics of successful business leaders who are women — how much depends on personality, how much on skill? Are there ways in which they differ from leaders who are men? Everyone is invited to come listen to three “boss ladies” with decades of experience discuss the rewards and challenges of being a woman in charge.

Featured storytellers will be Lee Schneller Sligh of Lee Schneller Fine Gardens; Jayne Crosby Giles of Giles Consulting; and Susanne Ward of Rock City Coffee. The program facilitator is Candace Vancho, former college president and “boss lady,” and program organizer is Dozier Bell; both are members of the Midcoast Women Planning Team.

The live, one-hour storytelling event will be followed by a moderated Q&A. The Collective Voices series is free and open to the public.

The Midcoast Women’s Collective provides opportunities for local women of all ages to find and strengthen their individual and shared voices. For more information about this and upcoming programs, visit midcoastwomen.org; and check out the Midcoast Women page on Facebook.
