Adults are invited to Rockland Public Library on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 6:30 p.m. to embrace their inner artists and make some zany art. Wacky Art Night is a laid-back evening of creation, inspiration and foolishness.

At the center of wacky art is the idea of letting go of perfection and not letting it stop the process of creation. In fact, participants are encouraged to make the weirdest, most imperfect piece of art that they can. Supplies are provided, but participants can bring some of their own, if they would like.

Attendees can make as many pieces of “wacky art” (sculptures, paintings, collages, etc.) as they want. At the end of the night, there will be an exhibition, where everyone can browse and cast three votes for their favorite pieces. The winners will get a Wacky Art Night-appropriate prize.

Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union St. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 594-0310.
