Lincoln County Community Theater, the resident theater company of the downtown Lincoln Theater, will hold auditions for two upcoming musicals Sunday, Dec. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m.; and Monday, Dec. 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Skidompha Library's Porter Hall. People auditioning are asked to use the Elm Street entrance to the library.

The shows to be auditioned for are: “Sister Act, the Musical,” directed by John Mulcahy, to be semi-staged the weekend of April 5; and the fully staged summer show “A Grand Night for Singing: the Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, with direction and choreography by Emile Mirabile and music direction by Mulcahy.

“Sister Act” ensemble rehearsals will be Sunday afternoons starting mid-January; members of the ensemble are not required to memorize the music. Principals will rehearse independent of the chorus until performances near. The production will be accompanied by a full orchestra.

Performances of “A Grand Night for Singing” are scheduled for the weekends of Aug. 1 and 8, with rehearsals beginning in mid-June. Although originally written for a cast of five, LCCT, as it did a few summers back with the Kander and Ebb revue “And the World Goes 'Round,” will be expanding the show to feature multiple performers and a chorus.

Actors are asked to bring sheet music to the auditions. An accompanist will be provided. Questions about either of these shows can be emailed to
