Marcia Benner has recently been promoted to senior vice president, chief administrative officer at Damariscotta Bank & Trust Co.

In her new role, Benner, a resident of Waldoboro, will continue to be responsible for human resources, branch administration and marketing. She will be assuming new responsibilities of leading the operations and compliance department, as well as taking on other administrative duties for the bank.

Benner has more than 15 years of experience in banking, having held several positions with DB&T. She graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a master’s degree in organizational leadership and a graduate certificate in human resource management. In June of this year, she graduated from a banking program through the New England School for Financial Studies. She maintains two human resources certifications.

She has held several volunteer positions dedicated to human resources, including director for the SHRM Maine State Council. She volunteers for the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute, United Way’s Success by Six Council, the Center of Financial Training and at her children's school.
