Through the end of December, the downtown McGrory & Wolf Gallery has a sale of selected art works. Gallery owner Polly McGrory said she and husband Wolfgang Busse have been busy creating new works, and now they need some room.

“We thought this would be a perfect idea for Christmas, because a painting makes a terrific gift,” McGrory said. “Some earlier pieces are marked down 50 percent so they are really affordable.”

Other unusual gift options include small treasure boxes, dog knickknacks and original note cards of the most popular paintings in the gallery, including many Maine scenes. And there are free artists’ magazines for stocking stuffers.

McGrory & Wolf Gallery is in the village at 9 Friendship Road/Route 220. For more information, call 790-1427.
