United Christian Church, 18 Searsmont Road, in Lincolnville will celebrate Christmas in many ways throughout the month of December. Worship is led by the Rev. Elizabeth Barnum.

Children's Church is offered during the service every Sunday during Advent, culminating in the Nativity Play on the Dec. 23. All young people present are invited forward at the beginning of the service to light the candles of the Advent wreath. Then they are welcomed into the Parish Hall to share the stories and drama of the mysteries of the Nativity. A gluten-free snack is provided.

On Dec. 2, a First Sunday Communion Service will be held, with the lighting of the Advent Candle of Hope, honoring the Earth. Connie Parker will be the organist.

Dec. 9 will be the lighting of the Advent Candle of Peace, honoring the plants. Kat Logan is the guest organist. Coffee Hour in the community building will follow worship.

On Dec. 16, a lighting of the Advent Candle of Joy, to honor all creatures, will be held, along with Wing and a Prayer Choir. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Kate Braestrup. Connie Parker is the organist. A special offering for the denomination’s Christmas fund provides ministerial assistance to individuals in need who have served the church for many years.

Dec. 23 will be the lighting of the Advent Candle of Love, honoring humanity. Connie Parker is the organist. The Nativity Play will be presented by the Children’s Church.

On Dec. 30, there will be a carol sing, with Peter Saladino as the pianist.

Music & Reflection gathering will take place Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m., led by the Rev. Elizabeth Barnum.

Dec. 2 will feature Celtic harpist Alex Bigney.

Dec. 9 will feature singer/songwriter Kat Logan.

Dec. 16 will feature Taize Service with Peter Yanz, song leader & Peter Saladino, piano.
