Veterans of the American Legion Color Guard stood in a silent vigil Nov. 11 at the Veterans Honor Roll monument on the Village Green.

This Veterans Day, they joined with others across the United States in remembrance of World War I veterans and the World War I centennial, as the bells of Camden's town clock, and Camden-area churches, tolled 11 times at the 11th hour of the 11th day of November.

The morning began at the Camden Hills Regional High School Wave Cafe, with the eighth annual Veterans Day breakfast hosted by the students of the National Honor Society.

Lunch was hosted by American Legion Post 1 in Rockland.

In the afternoon, veterans, families and community members were entertained with musical performances by the Lincolnville Band, Harborside Harmony, Camden Hills' a cappella group, The OffBeats, and more, at War Memorial Post 30 American Legion in Camden.
