A postpartum support group will meet Thursdays, beginning Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and alternating locations between Waldo County General Hospital and Pen Bay Medical Center.

The first session will be held in the Biscone Building, first-floor Community Room, 119 Northport Ave., Belfast. Sessions are free, and no preregistration is required.

After the birth of a baby, it is normal to notice some physical and emotional changes. New mothers may feel exhausted, have difficulty concentrating, have changes in their eating habits (too much or not enough), feel overwhelmed, anxious, guilty, irritable, sad or angry with or without signs of rage. These can be signs of a perinatal mood disorder.
